Primorsky krai, stretching in the south of the Far East, occupies about 166 thousand km² and is inhabited by approximately 2 million people. Primorsky krai has internal borders with the territory of the Khabarovsk krai and external borders – with China and North Korea. Its eastern and southern coasts are washed by the waters of the Sea of Japan. In the northern direction the territory of krai stretches for 900 kilometers, in the eastern – its maximum width is 430. Half of the three thousand kilometers of borders are maritime.
